The Pacifica Islanders are a Minor League Football Team based in Pacifica, California. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation (EIN 33-1201394). The Pacifica Islanders are recognized locally and nationally both on and off the football field. Over the years the team has donated and volunteered countless hours and thousands of dollars to Pacifica high school and youth sports leagues. Additionally, the team has donated funds from the gate of games to community organizations. The team has helped to restore the Little Brown Church through actual construction work on the building.
The team has organized fund raisers for the Pacifica Resource Center, three different cancer patients and numerous other causes. Last year the team donated funds to help defray medical and funeral costs for a teammate who was murdered. The team also puts on a summer youth football camp that runs for two weeks every year in July. It is for children ages 6-13 and is coached by the Islanders players.
The Impact
The Islanders football program gives athletes the chance to continue playing after their scholastic carreers are over and also keeps young at risk adult men away from the ever growing temptations of street life and gang activity while also mentoring kids 6-13 at summer youth football camps.
